Whether I am sure or not right now, all I know is I keep finding myself back at the site staring at this so we will have to see!

Ambient Lighting Blush Palette
Price: $67
-0.11 oz Cheek shades in Luminous Flush (champagne rose)
-0.11 oz Incandescent Electra (cool peach)
-0.11 oz Mood Exposure (soft plum)

Are you serious?! Just recently I bought the Ambient Lighting highlighting palette and as I was contemplating I said “I really wish it was a blush palette.” Turns out I love my other palette so it worked out for the better, but I am most certainly going to have to get my hands on this!

Naked Basics 2
Price: $35
Consists of:
-0.05 oz in Skimp (pale nude satin)
-0.05 oz Stark (nude-pink matte)

-0.05 oz Cover (muted red-brown matte)
-0.05 oz Primal (muted brown matte)
-0.05 oz Undone (deep, smoky brown matte)

I am borderline obsessed with my Naked Basics, easily my favourite palette. Easy for travel, so versatile and so buttery. So I have been back and forth on getting the 2nd version since they seem so similar…but they AREN’T similar, and why not get something you know you are absolutely going to love!

I also definitely would have gone for the Draw the Line and the Lash Stash as well but…I recently bought those! haha

So those are what is on my wish list (so far!) Looking to be a good Christmas! haha What is on your wish list from Sephora’s value sets collection?

Every Day Office Makeup

When looking at your whole beautiful makeup collection, sometimes it can be really hard to pin point what your everyday makeup is.

You may factor in that every now and then you wear this primer…..

….orrrrr for days you’re a little more glammed up, you’ll wear this lipstick….

…and you know, you do rotate what eyeliner your using sometimes…

But now that I start work at 7:30 a.m. and bring my travel bag of makeup and quickly put it on right at my desk more often than I’d like to admit, I’ve stripped down to what products I absolutely need on the regular that make me feel confident and ready to face the day!

Shocker #1 — no tinted moisturizer. A staple for me on nights out, but I like to let my skin breathe — at least for the summer while I have a natural tan going on, it takes less time in the morning.

I start with (most mornings) Tarte Amazonian Clay bronzer, or if I’m up for contouring, benefit Hoola bronzer. I use my real techniques multi-task brush for this.

I follow that up with my beautiful, Nars Amour.

I then put on the Revlon Colorstay concealer to cover those purple bags. Definitely needed for that 6:30a.m. wakeup.
Next, Anastasia Beverly Hills brow pencil, followed by my Body Shop brow gel.
Then I follow with my Hourglass Ambient Lighting palette for highlight, used with my Body Shop slanted Kabuki brush.
Onto the eyes, I use Urban Decay’s Naked palette, shades W.O.S. and Naked 2 OR Lancome’s Positive Matte for the base. If I have time in the mornings, I opt for the Naked 3 palette, but it usually comes down to Naked Basics right at my desk! haha
I then line the eyes with either my L’Oreal Paris Lineur Intense Carbon Black liquid eyeliner or if I am going for a smaller cat eye, my Stila black liquid liner.
Shocker #2 — Not usually sporting pencil eyeliner at work. As much as I love my Urban Decay Perversion, I just don’t want to have to worry about raccoon eyes that I usually have by the end of the day!

Last of the routine is my fabulous Tarte lights, camera, lashes mascara.
Finish the look off with the lip colour of the day and Voila! my every day office wear makeup!

Holy Grail Hump Day! — Urban Decay’s Naked Basics

Today’s Holy Grail Hump Day is dedicated to Urban Decay’s Naked Basics!

This pallet isn’t exactly new to the internet, and you’ve probably heard many rave about these six shadows before. But it takes a lot to become a Holy Grail for me, so I think it deserves all the recognition it gets!

The packaging is petite and sturdy, able to fit six full size shadows but remain small, light and great for travel. Not only is this my go-to for every day wear, but the packaging makes it perfect for travel or to fit in my purse for touch ups.

The name of Naked Basics is 100% appropriate. These colours truly are the cream of the crop for a natural look, for any skin tone, and can transition into a dramatic look for night as well. The world is your oyster.

There are five matte shades and 1 shimmer; which to me is absolutely perfect. I am obsessed with my Naked 3 pallet, however I definitely wish there were more matte shades than shimmery ones. With the Naked pallets I feel like you go into the purchase fully knowing there will at least be one or two shades that will be a write off and you will just simply never get along with — with Naked Basics, I can use every single one.
Venus — A shimmery white/cream colour. I love this to highlight under the brow. It has great pigmentation, and adds the perfect amount of frost that I intend for.
Foxy — A light yellow matte shadow. It is an extremely smooth shade, probably the least used of the shades for me, but definitely still a great shade.
W.O.S. (Walk of Shame) — A creamy, light beige matte shadow. I am obsessed with this shade!! I always, always use this as a base all over the lid. Super buttery and smooth to work with, I am in love.
Naked 2 — A very light, soft brown matte shadow. My favourite shade of the pallet, I go to this every single day for everyday wear. It provides a soft, smooth light look, and is the perfect crease shade when I use W.O.S for all over the lid.
Faint — A warm medium brown matte shadow. As per usual, pigmentation is amazing and is super buttery and smooth, so easy to work with.
Crave — A dark black with hints of brown, matte shadow. I love this to line the eye with, as well as to transition to a dramatic look if I am out already.

The price is also something to feel great about, with Urban Decay shadows selling for $22.00 per shadow, Naked Basics gives you six full-size amazing shades for $33.00. Bringing you down from $22.00 a shadow to $5.50!

Based on packaging, pigmentation, colour variety, colour payoff and price — Urban Decay Naked Basics is absolutely a Holy Grail for me!!

This is Where I Draw The Line: Eyeliner Review

Eyeliner is one of my absolute must-haves, if not THE product I need every single day. Eyeliner can waken the entire face, and either enhance your eye look dramatically, or just enough that your face doesn’t look washed out. At all times I am testing out new liners to see what works best for me. Today I am going to do a review on the ones I have been using lately!

Revlon ColourStay Pencil Eyeliner: 5/10

Price: $9.99
Colour/Pigmentation: When first applied I feel the colour payoff is great, however smudges very easily. I won’t have even left the house before I can see it already looking a bit messy.
Staying power: I use this on my waterline and it is almost completely gone after the first couple of hours of wear.
Application: Liner glides on smoothly, and I enjoy that the product can be rolled up so there is no need for a sharpener.

Stila Smudge Stick Waterproof Liner: 8/10
Price: $26.00
Colour/Pigmentation: Amazing pigmentation, I personally have it in Stingray which is the ideal deep black, perfect for a night out or defining the eyes during the day.
Staying power: the longevity of this product is pretty good, definitely noticed some fading after coming home from a long day, but still holding on. Which is impressive since my waterline eats everything up!
Application: I think eyeliner swatches are hard to judge…but the above picture further impressed me about this product. You can SEE how smoothly this product glides on.

Urban Decay 24/7 Glide-On Double Ended Eye Pencil 8.5/10
Price: $19.00
Colour/Pigmentation: I have this product in Demolition (a dark brown) and Perversion (black) and enjoy this product during the day for the waterline and tightlining. I have to say I love tight lining with Demolition, it really does give the illusion of thicker lashes and does not look harsh.
Staying power: Demolition — awesome. Perversion — alright.
Application: Not quite Stila eyeliner standards, but this product also applies quite smoothly. I would actually say the formula is so soft, it can be a bit smudgy.

Almay 3.5/10
Price: $7.29
Colour Pigmentation: This colour is so dry so it takes quite a few tries to actually show up. The brown does not show up very well.
Staying power. What little does manage to come on during application, is completely gone within the hour.
Application: The packaging is simple and effective, a twist-up bottom makes application easy, and the pencil is very thin which is great for precision, but who cares about that when the product doesn’t even show up?

Sephora Glitter Black 9/10
Price: $15.00
Colour/Pigmentation: The colour payoff is what I love about this the most. I dark black with a tiny bit of shimmer, very unique and great to add that extra touch to your look on a night out!
Staying power: I have only worn this out at night, but it has lasted me easily up to 6 hours.
Application: The brush is very small, making creating that perfect winged line or a bold dramatic stroke. Goes on smooth, I love this!

Revlon Colorstay Liquid Eyeliner 9.8/10
Price: $10.99
Colour/Pigmentation: My all time favourite eyeliner. Colour payoff is amazing whether you do a thin precise line or a bold, dramatic stroke. No feathering, smudges or running.
Staying power: Stays until I take it off. The only reason for the 0.5 is if I happen to cry…things do get messy.  But stay happy, and stay pretty with your eyeliner!
Application: Great small brush for precision, I feel like a little bottle can last me quite a while. Takes a minute to dry but once it does, its so worth it!!

Eyeko 3/10
Price: $19.00
Colour/Pigmentation: This product is very dry so the colour payoff is not so great. The first couple of times I tried it I could get about halfway through an eyelid before it dried out. But you can see even from the swatch above, it is completely dried out!
Staying power: I have never successfully worn this so I couldn’t say! What a waste.
Application: I think the packaging is pretty great, the tip is super thin which could make a great winged liner, but because you feel like you have to keep re-lining forget it.

Stila Intense Black Liquid Liner 9.5/10
Price: $26.00
Colour/Pigmentation: This is an intense black, which is what I love in an eyeliner. The payoff is amazing!
Staying power: I can apply this in the morning when I wake up, and it hasn’t budged by the time I take it off before bed at night. Awesome stuff.
Application: This quick-dry liner is so thin that it can make an amazing thin precise line or a bold stroke.

L’Oreal Paris Carbon Black Intense 9.5/10
Price: $7.97
Colour/Pigmentation: This is my newest liner, and I am extremely impressed. The colour payoff wonderful, no fading or smudging whatsoever. It is a nice dark deep black.
Staying power: Stays all day long, a friend with oily lids even says she has no problem with it disappearing.
Application: The felt tip is so precise, I find it very easy to create the exact look I want. I do feel it works best if you dip back into the pot a couple of times through creating your look, but otherwise am so on board for this product.

April Sephora Haul — Part 2

Since the 15% off Sephora sale is a rarity that happens only twice a year, of course I had to seize my opportunity to finally get some products that I had been eyeing for a while. Right?! Right.

This post is more so a preview, since I have only had a few days with these products and thus my opinions are based more so off of first impressions rather than truly knowing the products well. But soon enough you will be getting a full review of these products!

I present, my beautiful, beautiful online Sephora haul:

This haul consists of

Tarte Golden Opportunity Tarte-To-Go Kit:
This kit consists of:

  • Amazonian Clay Bronzer in Park Ave Princess 0.11 oz.
  • Brazilliance Skin Rejuvenating Maracuja Self Tanner 0.5 oz.

This is a measly $12.00, are you serious?! I have been really wanting to try their bronzer since I’ve heard time after time how amazing it is, especially for summer to give the perfect sun-kissed glow. I felt guilty at $30.00 however, since I already have two great bronzers no where near to being done. But at $12.00 for a pretty decent sized version of their most popular shade, PLUS a self-tanner, another highly rated (4.6 on Sephora) Tarte product that I have been curious to try. Uhh, SOLD!

Urban Decay Naked 3 Palette:

Alright, so not as good of a deal as the Tarte set…but I have wanted this since it came out, and I did get my 15% off for it. Urban Decay shadows hit it out of the park for me, and at $22 for individual shades, it just makes so much more sense to get a set of 12 shades that complement one another. After playing around with it for a while I will be most definitely putting up a review!

Uhhh just LOOK AT IT. I find myself sometimes just staring at it for long periods of time it is just

Anastasia Beverly Hills Go Brow Kit – Medium Brown:

This kit consists of:

  • Mini Brow Pencil: Shade Medium Brown 0.013
  • Mini Tweezers
  • Mini Clear Brow Gel 0.085 oz.

Can you tell I like getting value sets? I just feel like it provides the perfect opportunity to try something before  spending a hefty amount, and I do feel like I am getting more bang for my buck.

Having already tried all three items from the set, I can say I am definitely happy with this purchase.

I do not draw in my eyebrows all that much, just in the areas where the hair is more sparse, and it looks completely natural and defines my brow shape.

The tweezers do their job, though I wouldn’t say they did any better than my drugstore brand pair.

The Mini Clear Brow Gel is my favourite item from this set, and probably the only item I will be repurchasing the full size of. I am constantly having the problem of my eyebrow hairs going out of wack and making me look like some sort of mad wizard, but this keeps them on lockdown without having that gross hardened gel/crusty look!

Benefit Cosmetics You Go Gals!

I have to say upon opening my Sephora delivery box I was a little disappointed with the size of the three perfectors, but after using them I am glad I went with this.

This kit consists of:

  • “That Gal” Brightening Face Primer 0.25 fl. oz.
  • The PORE fessional Pro Balm Face Primer 0.25 fl. oz.
  • Girl Meets Pearl Liquid Pearl Luminizer 0.25 fl. oz.

My favourite of the set is the Porefessional. Shocker. Everyone and their grandma has raved on about how it diminishes their pores, and I am hopping on the bandwagon. What makes it so special for me is that while I felt it looked only slightly better than my Maybelline Baby Skin primer, or NYX Pore Filler when I initially put it on, it STAYED that way all day long.

I also love Girl Meets Pearl,  a peachy-golden luminizer that adds the perfect shimmer to the skin without going overboard. It’s a light cream substance, making it easy to apply and blendable.

“That Gal” was my least favourite item from this set, being a makeup primer set out to brighten the face, I don’t really think it fufilled its purpose. I did not really see much– if at all– change in the brightness of my skin. Furthermore, I have way better primers to help keep my makeup put, so I can see this making its way to the bottom of my makeup pile.

Oh well, 2/3!

Sephora Collection Purifying Brush Shampoo 2 oz.:

An affordable cleanser that does its job well! After one pump for smaller brushes, and two for bigger ones, simply swirl the brush around and rinse, and see all the makeup come off no problem. I can see this bottle lasting me a long time.
